Built in 1923, the bridge connecting Lorain Road and Carnegie Road encapsulates an era. Four stunning art deco statues of the "Guardians of Traffic", designed by Frank Walker, tower over the entrances marking the exciting beginning of the automotive revolution. The structure demands your attention, even while crossing it's neighboring bridges.
It is the second of the major high-level bridges that cross Cuyahoga River, and the link between Carnegie and Lorain had been envisioned as early as 1911.
It is built of steel and concrete and is nearly a mile long; it was designed by engineers Wilbur J. Watson & Associates.
