Jacobs Field is the home of the Cleveland Indians. Previously, the Cleveland Indians would play in the Cleveland Municipal Stadium, which was shared with the Cleveland Browns as well. Cuyahoga County voters approved a 15 year sin tax on alcohol and cigarette sales to fund the construction of the stadium.

The ground breaking for the stadium began in January of 1992 and was completed on April 4th of 1994. The construction of the stadium cost approximately $175 million. The architecture was designed by HOK Sport. On it's very first opening day, President Bill Clinton threw the first pitch of the game. In that game, the Indians went on and defeated the Seattle Mariners 4-3 in extra innings. Jacobs Field has been host to two World Series and an All-Star Game.
