Type City Cleveland is a collaboration between The Cleveland Institute of Art and Veer, both leaders in the field of graphic design. CIA design students are known for their creativity, resourcefulness, and strong work ethic. Veer is a leader in providing the best "elements for creativity".
Design students were to choose a location in Cleveland, choose a typeface from Veer that is appropriate for their location, and then render an image of their location using that typeface. Designers are scored on three aspects on a scale of 1 to 10:
- Selection of a typeface appropriate for the location
- Showing the character of the type face within the rendering
- Overall representation of the location showing shape and depth
